The 31st 3F will increase its size to 660,000 sqm

Mar 14, 2014 | By CENS

(Houjie China) The upcoming 31st International Famous Furniture Fair will increase its size to 660,000 sqm, almost 3 times bigger than its previous show. The increase of size comes from the addition of Famous Furnishing Expo Park (FFEP) project, whose construction starts almost 3 years ago and will open to business on the same day as the fast approaching 31st 3F on 16th March.

FFEP is a mega project with a planning construction size over 1 million square meters and will be constructed in 3 phases. The phase one of the project is a 7-floors buildings, which is opening on 16th March and provides 400,000 sqm show space. The building is named as Hall 9 during the 3F, the short name for the International Famous Furniture Fair. The building will remain as retail and wholesale showroom during non-market days.

With the added space, the 31st 3F will showcase designs and products from over 1,200 companies and expects to attract over 100,000 visitors from around the world.

The FFEP project is the example of “Dongguan Mode” pushed by Dongguan Famous Furniture Association, a very active and powerful association in China as well as the organizer of 3F. Behind “Dongguan Mode” is the idea to combine the strength of regular trade shows, which normally last 4 or 5 days and the power of year-around furniture showrooms.

“Looking from a global perspective, High Point in America and Milan in Italy are two places playing very important role in shaping the world's furniture industry. High Point weights on its large number of year around showrooms while Milan is famed for iSaloni, its furniture trade show,” commented Mr. Yin Chengzhi, the President of Dongguan Famous Furniture Association. “Houjie is about to become the third important place because it is taking up the core competitive strength of both High Point and Milan and combining them together in one place.”

Mr. Yin's confidence comes from the fact that his Association runs International Famous Furniture Fair (3F) twice every year, which will have its 31st edition from 16 – 20 March, 2014.
