Uprtek photometers boast several unique features.
United Power Research Technology Corporation (UPRtek), a subsidiary founded by the Phison Group in 2006, promoted the MF250N and the MK350N Plus series photometers for measuring LED lighting at the 2015 Autumn edition of Hong Kong International Lighting Fair from October 27 through 30.

With a reputation for spectrophotometers which are sold under its own brand “UPRtek”, the maker's MF250N photometer can analyze light flicker and harmonics, making it reportedly the industry's only flicker meter with spectrum function. It analyzes flickering frequency ranging 5Hz to 2000 Hz and visible wavelengths from 380 nm to 780 nm.

The basic lighting parameters that the MF250N measures in a lamp include color rendering index, color temperature, luminosity and spectrum. This meter is particularly developed for lampmakers who demand high measurement accuracy in flickering frequency and image resolution.

The MK350 is said to be the industry's first television lighting consistency index (TLCI) gauge for TV and film industries. It contains more practical measurement functions than the MK250 like TLSI, QS, and GAI, but is developed for interior decor tradesmen and lighting DIYers.

The company's meters, about the size of a mobile phone, can measure over 30 LED lighting parameters with very high accuracy as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the U.S. government.

To enable easy operation of the wireless meters, the company provides customers with measurement application software downloadable from Apple App Store and Android Google Play to smartphones. Also notable is that the photometers are backed by a 2-year warranty.

Showing the maker's involvement in R&D, the company has cooperated with Harvard University, Texas Agricultural University, Cornell University, University of Oxford, University of London, Munich University, National Taiwan University, and Osaka University.

To boost recognition of its brand and design of the company's products, UPRtek has participated in Taiwan's high-profile design competitions since 2012 and won the Golden Torch 2012, the Aurora 2013, the Taiwan Excellence 2014 and 2015, the Taiwan Outstanding Product Award 2014. In 2013, The MK series was reported in the IES Progress Report.

The company has signed an agreement to work with Dragon Image Pty Ltd. of Australia, a vendor of photographic and video equipment, to distribute its MK350 series and MF250N flicker meter in Australia and New Zealand.

Both products are versatile spectrophotometric solutions designed for the film and television, laboratory, commercial-lighting, agricultural, and optics industries.

UPRtek's meters are designed to enable consumers to achieve eco-friendliness, visual-comfort and energy-saving in smart lighting, able to tell consumers luminous parameters and which lights suffer from hazardous flicker.
