The 2018 20th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) kicked off on Oct. 27, lasting for four days at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Economic Daily News (CENS.com) led 123 quality exhibitors from Taiwan, showcasing products like LEDs, smart and green lighting products side-by-side with 3,000 other companies from around the world.

Diversity is key at the Lighting Fair; for example, the household lighting area lineup showcases functional and ornamental lights. Notable quality Taiwanese brands that showcased include Paul-Yu Ind. Corp. (1A-F02) , Rise Lighting Co., Ltd. (1A-F22), Tons Lightology Inc. (1B-A02), Unity Lighting Co., Ltd. (1B-A27), as well as 500 other brands exhibiting their lighting products and accessories. Green-focused products were popular as well, including LED and commercial-use energy-saving products showcased at the environmentally-friendly lighting area.

Global lighting industry players have been developing smart lighting solutions to meet the vast market demands using Internet of Things tech in the past years. In response to the market pulse, the Autumn Edition Lighting Fair debuted the first “Smart Household Lounge,” where notable smart household lighting products like XiaoMi's YeeLight, Philips, Opple, AliGenie AI Union and Tuya were displayed. The Smart Lighting and Solutions area also include displays of fashionably designed smart lighting, software, management systems and control boards.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau said the show head organizer has been actively creating more business opportunities for the industry through organizing 80 buyer delegations, and seeing the arrival of 5,600 companies and over 7,700 international buyers to attend the lighting trade platform. These international players include Germany's SLV Group, Canada's Globe Electric, South Korea's Samsung Electronics and E-World, and Malaysia's Primer Capital.

Lumiastra Co.,Ltd., part of the Economic Daily News ( CENS.com)-led exhibitor group, showcased industrial lighting and smart lighting solutions. Location was the main reason that the firm chose to attend the Lighting Fair Autumn Edition, citing how it was situated at the core of the Asian Pacific region. As a result, the fair is not only close to Southeast Asia and Taiwan, but also has attracted buyers from Europe, the U.S. and more. With increasing show visitors and quality buyers, Lumiastra quickly signed multiple orders with new clients on the first day of the show.
