In 2023, the trend of eco-friendly is re-emerging, and consumers are starting to take "sustainability" back into consideration when purchasing furniture.

Sustainable furniture is commonly produced from recycled elements or biodegradable wood such as bamboo or acacia. Reclaimed lumber has widely used in manufacturing. This material is usually obtained from old equipment or removed from other places. Although reclaimed lumber furniture may have cracks or holes, some consumers prefer these inherent, unique flaws. And for all the benefits, it often comes at a price much lower than other freshly manufactured counterparts.

Apart from the popularity of eco-friendly materials, some surveys indicate that consumers are willing to spend more money on manufacturers that also share their social concerns. For this reason, if manufacturers could disseminate their CRS, it might deepen consumers' engagement with their products.

MIFF 2023: Top B2B furniture and furnishings exhibition in Southeast Asia.

Malaysia is known for its rich natural resources. The lush rainforest provides an ample variety of wood for furniture making. Meanwhile, the country has a well-managed forestry system to ensure a continuous supply of high-grade sustainable timber and the preservation of natural heritage for generations to come. And with abundant resources, advanced techniques, the tradition of wood carving, investments in the furniture industry, and lower production costs, Malaysia has always been known worldwide for the quality of wooden furniture.

High quality, dependable, creative, aesthetic, and trustworthy-these are some of the ways foreign buyers describe Malaysian manufacturers. With a proven track record, the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) also brings in exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, making it the premier meeting place for industry players. The show will be held from March 1 to 4 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) and Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Organized by Informa Markets, MIFF remains the most well-known B2B furniture and furnishings trade show in Southeast Asia. The show is well-reputed for its trademark resilience and a wide variety of top suppliers and products. MIFF 2023 will showcase over 500 exhibitors from Malaysia and abroad showcasing their latest products. Launching new lines include design trends to suit lifestyles and workspaces reshaped by the pandemic.
