Trade Promoter CENS Helps Taiwanese Exhibitors Shoot for Business at TAPA 2025

2025/04/04 | By Ken Liu

The Economic Daily News/China Economic News Service (CENS) under the Chinese-language United Daily News Group (UDN) organizes 37 Taiwanese manufacturers to showcase their latest products in 40 booths at the Thailand International Auto Parts and Accessories Show (TAPA) 2025, which is held from April 3 through April 5.

These Taiwanese exhibitors are all under the Taiwan Pavilion roof with their booths to show off the mighty manufacturing capability of Taiwan’s after-market auto parts and accessories industry in the global supply chain. For a long time, the Taiwanese manufacturers have been affirmed by international buyers for their quality product research and development, manufacturing, and after service.

On the first day of this very show, Nick Ni, Economic Division Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Thailand, visited all of the exhibitors from Taiwan, providing them information not just on the Tai market and economy but also on the office’s assistance in investing in Thailand as well.

The Taiwanese exhibitors display a wide range of products at this show, including switches, brake parts, mirrors, oil seals, auto lamps, electronic devices, suspension and cushion systems, body parts, cooling and air-conditioning systems, repairing and maintenance tools and equipment, engine components, intelligent instrument panels, beautification products, and composite materials for car mats.

This year, the auto parts show, occupying a total floor area of 20,320 square meters at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand, has inspired around 600 suppliers from ASEAN, South Asia, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and China to exhibit their stellar products at 11,000 booths. On the other hand, it has drawn over 8,000 buyers from South Asia, China, Taiwan, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to sign up with the organizer.

The organizer and co-organizer, Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government, and Thai Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association (TAPMA), project the biennial exhibition to generate sales of US$60 million this year, up from 2023’s US$46 million.

By product breakdown, the event’s floor is equipped with Engines & Transmissions, Brake Systems, Steering Systems, Body Parts, Electrical/ Electronics, Suspensions, Interiors/Exteriors, and Others sections. Of the seven sections, electrical/electronics is set up at this show for the first time in line with the increasing intelligence and electrification in cars thanks to the technological advancement in semiconductors.

The major feature for this event this year is all around sustainability with the slogan "World Auto Parts Sourcing Hub: Sustainable for the Future," which underlines Thailand's position as a major global sourcing hub for automotive parts and accessories built with highly effective and environmentally friendly, particularly sustainable technologies.

Thailand is the largest hub for automotive production and export in the ASEAN region and the world's 12th-largest automaker overall. Additionally, Thailand produces a wide range of high-quality, international-standard vehicle parts and accessories, including tyre, with an annual export value of US$20,000 million. Major markets are the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China.

As the second largest economy of ASEAN, Thailand has seen many of the world’s major automakers and parts makers making a foray into the ASEAN market via it by teaming up with joint venture in the country.

At this show, the Economic Daily News/CENS distributes its printed copies of Taiwan Transportation Equipment Guide (TTG), which collects the detailed information on Taiwan’s auto-parts and accessories suppliers, for free in the hope of bringing buyers to the Taiwanese suppliers. In addition, the promoter gives away USB version of the contents and connects buyers to online edition of the catalog to increase information exposure of the Taiwanese manufacturers.

In spite of a magnitude 7.7 earthquake hitting Myanmar and, then, rattling part of Thailand in late March, killing more than 1600 people in total and leveling some structures in both countries, the auto parts show is proceeding as scheduled at the unscathed venue without interruption.
