CENS to Show Off Taiwan's Industrial Prowess at Hannover Messe 2014

2014/04/01 | By Steve Chuang

As one of Taiwan's best-known export promoters, CENS (the China Economic News Service) will once again take part in Hannover Messe 2014 on April 7-11 in Germany, where it will highlight Taiwan's industrial prowess and help local manufacturers boost their global exposure at this globally dominant trade fair.

Organized by Deutsche Messe AG, Hannover Messe is known for its comprehensive lineup of exhibits from all over the world which present the latest developments in industrial technology and market trends, as well as for the variety of concomitant events that add breadth and depth to the show.

This year's Hannover Messe has adopted the theme “Integrated Industry – Next Steps” to underscore the ongoing industrial trend toward greater flexibility of production processes and the smart self-organizing factory of the future.

The show will feature a full spectrum of exhibits divided into seven categories: Industrial Automation, Energy, MobiliTec, Digital Factory, Industrial Supply, IndustrialGreeTec, and Research & Technology. Visitors can look forward to live demonstrations of fully operational production plants that show how products will be made in the future, and can also go on guided "Industry 4.0" tours where they will discover the smart solutions that are now available on the market, how these solutions can be integrated into existing manufacturing plants, and what they offer in terms of enhanced flexibility and efficiency.

In addition to innovative industrial technologies that address concerns about automated production and digitalized factories, Hannover Messe 2014 will also feature displays that signal the ongoing transformation of the world's energy systems--a transformation which seeks to help reduce dependence on the current energy system by building nationwide networks of smaller, decentralized solar, wind, biomass, hydro, biomass, and geothermal generation plants. A key part of these future networks will be smart grids designed to intelligently and efficiently manage the long-distance transmission and distribution of electricity.

Parallel Events

Besides serving as a business platform, Hannover Messe is also a global driver of industrial technology development thanks to its co-timed forums and events.

This year will see the Global Business & Markets event take place in Hall 13, with a conference program and an Investment Lounge for attendees interested in export and investment opportunities worldwide.

The organizer will also arrange "Technology Tours" to enable easier sourcing for professional buyers in need of the most important innovations and exhibits at the show, and will set up "Tec2You" pavilions adjacent to Hall 11 to introduce schoolchildren and students to a wide range of career opportunities.

The "Metropolitan Solution" in the Hall 16 is expected to remain popular with visitors, given that the development of smart cities is on the rise worldwide. This parallel event turned out to be a big success last year by showcasing various futuristic concepts of intelligent houses, smart power distribution, wireless street lighting, and electric cars, along with technologies for dealing with urbanization from more than 140 companies. This made the scene inside the hall look like a real city of the future and provided visitors a look at how companies are trying to improve urban infrastructures and make cities smarter and more energy-saving.

The Netherlands, as a driving force behind innovation in mechanical and plant engineering and the energy sector in Europe, has been named as the show's Partner Country in 2014 (following Russia in 2013). German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte will address an audience of 2,500 invited guests from around the world at the Hannover Messe 2014 Opening Ceremony on April 6.

CENS has continuously taken part in Hannover Messe in past years as part of its effort to bridge Taiwanese suppliers with global buyers by circulating its industrial magazines such as Taiwan Industrial Suppliers (TIS), a useful buyer's guide known for providing extensive information about Taiwan's high-quality manufacturers with top-notch production technology and time-honored reputations.

Hannover Messe 2014 will draw over 5,000 exhibitors from 65 different countries.

At this year's show, CENS will occupy booth A-49 in Hall 5, where it will continue to live up to its name as Taiwan's leading export media company by helping foreign buyers with the easy sourcing of top-end Taiwanese suppliers. (SC)
