Under the guidance of the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taichung City Government, the “2025 Taichung Machine Tool & Smart Manufacturing Exhibition (TMTSME),” organized by the Economic Daily News, opened yesterday (26th) at the newly inaugurated Taichung International Convention Center. As the first major machinery exhibition to take place in the new venue, the event brings together 250 exhibitors across 600 booths, highlighting Taiwan’s latest advancements in machine tools, smart manufacturing technologies, and automation solutions. The show drew strong attendance from domestic and international buyers as well as key industry leaders.
The opening ceremony featured Legislative Yuan Vice President Chiang Chi-chen, Taichung Deputy Mayor Cheng Chao-hsin, TAITRA Deputy Secretary-General Ciu Huili, Economic Daily News President Liu Yong-ping, alongside representatives from major industry associations in central Taiwan. Their presence underscored Taichung’s strategic importance as the country’s leading hub for precision machinery.
Legislative Yuan Vice President Chiang Chi-chen noted in his remarks that Taichung is home to a comprehensive precision machinery cluster, making it the strongest base for Taiwan’s machine tool industry. As global manufacturing accelerates toward AI-driven automation and supply chains continue to evolve, he emphasized that smart manufacturing will remain a critical driver of Taiwan’s industrial competitiveness. The newly inaugurated exhibition center, he added, will play a key role in linking Taiwan’s manufacturing capabilities with global markets.
Economic Daily News President Liu Yong-ping expressed that it was a great honor to host the inaugural TMTSME in the newly completed exhibition hall. He offered sincere appreciation to the Taichung City Government and its dedicated team for their full support, which enabled the show to debut in this state-of-the-art venue and present Taiwan’s manufacturing strengths to the global community.
He also extended special thanks to the operational team of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), whose decade-long dedication has contributed significantly to building the infrastructure and supporting systems that ensure the smooth operation of today’s event.
President Liu emphasized that the deepest gratitude goes to all participating exhibitors. As a vital bridge for Taiwan’s industrial community, the Economic Daily News is committed not only to providing trusted information and news services but also to building platforms that foster collaboration, strengthen industry connections, and support long-term growth. He reaffirmed the publication’s mission to advance alongside the industry and work collectively toward a more competitive future for Taiwanese manufacturing.
Following the ceremony, dignitaries toured the booths of Zensang Industrial, Li-Rong Instruments, and Dongzheng Iron Works, where exhibitors showcased new-generation equipment, smart control technologies, and integrated production solutions. Industry representatives noted that accelerated adoption of AI applications, digital manufacturing, and green production requirements is driving Taiwan’s transition toward high-value, intelligent manufacturing. TMTSME serves as an important platform for technical exchange, supply chain collaboration, and international procurement engagement.
Organizers highlighted that central Taiwan has long been the nation’s powerhouse for precision machinery and metalworking, supported by a complete supply chain and strong R&D capabilities. TMTSME 2025 is expected to spur deeper cross-industry cooperation, accelerate Taiwan’s move toward high-end and smart manufacturing, and attract substantial global buyer participation—further reinforcing Taiwan’s strategic role in the global manufacturing landscape.
