Taiwanese Exhibitors Unite to Capture Business Opportunities at INA PAACE Automechanika Mexico 2025

2025/07/17 | By CENS

Mexico City – The annual INA PAACE Automechanika Mexico is taking place from July 16 to 18 at the Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City. This year’s show has drawn 652 exhibitors from 34 countries, occupying a total exhibition space of 28,016 square meters. As Mexico’s most renowned and influential trade fair for the automotive aftermarket, the event covers six major sectors: automotive parts and components, accessories and tuning, repair and maintenance, tires and related parts, automotive IT and management, and service station and car wash solutions.

On the opening day, Taiwan's Representative to Mexico, Lee Yue-Rong, along with Economic Director Hu Shao-Lin and Taiwan Trade Center Director Chen Ya-Chin, visited the exhibition to meet with Taiwanese exhibitors. They inquired about their products, operations, and market outlook, while also providing insights into the local automotive repair market and offering support from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Mexico to help companies explore business opportunities.

Dual Market Advantages: Bright Outlook for Auto Repair Sector

Representative Lee explained to Taiwanese exhibitors that Mexico, with over 130 million people, ranks as the world’s 10th most populous country and the second largest in Latin America. Its mountainous and plateau terrain makes cars an essential mode of transportation. Since the 1990s, Mexico has become a major production base for vehicles and auto parts, with the automotive industry accounting for 7.5% of the national GDP—its second-largest economic pillar.

Lee noted two distinct advantages for Mexico’s auto repair market. First, Mexico enforces strict emissions regulations: vehicles over two years old must undergo inspection every six months. Many high-income households replace their vehicles frequently, feeding a robust second-hand market. Combined with limited OEM warranties (typically 3 years), this fosters a thriving independent repair industry. These factors highlight the strong demand for aftermarket parts, offering significant potential for Taiwanese suppliers.

Second, Mexico’s geographic advantage—bordering the U.S. to the north and connecting to Central and South America—makes it a strategic gateway for auto parts to the entire Americas. Asia Metal Engineering & Parts Co., Ltd., a Taiwanese manufacturer of engine components, pointed out that parts shipped to Mexico can be assembled locally and then supplied to the U.S. aftermarket.

Customization is Key: Taiwanese Products Capture Attention

Asia Metal Engineering & Parts Co., Ltd. specializes in customized engine components, tailored through mold development to meet client needs. Despite higher production costs, their customization gives them a competitive edge. At the exhibition, the company emphasized its strength in producing parts for American vehicles and collaborating with Mexican partners to build complete engines for export to the U.S.

K.S. Terminals Inc., based in Changhua and focused on electrical terminals, automotive connectors, and wiring accessories, already has an established market in the U.S. and is now exploring opportunities in Mexico. Company representative Huang Shu-Wei expressed hopes of uncovering new business prospects through the show, noting that branded terminal giveaways at their booth drew significant interest.

HOMER HARDWARE INC., with nearly 30 years of history, produces safety belts and locks widely used not only in vehicles but also agricultural machinery. Having entered markets in Germany, the U.S., and Southeast Asia via various auto parts and hardware shows, they are now targeting Mexico. Their highly customizable products can be ordered with minimum quantities as low as 500 pieces.

TING TENG ENTERPRISE CO., LTD. made its first appearance at the Mexico show, promoting its core products including brake master cylinders, clutch master cylinders, slave cylinders, and repair kits. The company has already established a presence in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

ARCO MOTOR INDUSTRY CO., LTD. has participated in the show for several consecutive years. Marketing Manager Liu Tien-Chu described their products as “the heart of the engine.” The company enjoys solid sales across Latin America, particularly in Peru and Guatemala, where it recently hosted a technical seminar. Given the vast second-hand vehicle market in Mexico, Liu hopes to gain more customer support through this year’s participation.

BO CHANG INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD., with over 30 years of experience in producing engine valves, valve guides, and valve seats, already has customers in Mexico. Encouraged by their clients, the company decided to join the show for the first time to tap further into the Latin American market and expand its presence in the local repair industry.
