European Machine Tool Exhibition: 122 Taiwanese Companies Vie for Orders

2025/09/23 | By CENS

The world’s largest machine tool exhibition, EMO Hannover 2025, is currently taking place in Hannover, Germany, running for five days from September 22 to 26. Facing challenges from U.S. reciprocal tariffs and exchange rate volatility, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) are actively working on strategies to support the industry. The association is leading a delegation of 122 Taiwanese companies to the show, with the goal of expanding orders and global market share.

According to TMBA Chairman Chuang Ta-li, the global machine tool industry has been under pressure from economic downturns. While the number of Taiwanese exhibitors is slightly lower than in the previous edition, Taiwan still ranks second among non-European countries in terms of participation. Key exhibitors include HIWIN, Victor Taichung, Kao Fong, Takisawa, and Chengtai, underscoring the strength of Taiwan’s metalworking sector in smart manufacturing solutions.

TMBA statistics show that Taiwan’s machine tool exports have recorded double-digit declines for two consecutive years. In the first half of 2025, export value reached US$1.012 billion, down 5.8% year-on-year, reflecting weak global demand and exchange rate pressures.
