2025 Tainan International Fastener Exhibition: China Steel and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology Join Forces to Enhance Industry Competitiveness

2025/08/18 | By CENS

Taiwan is a major global exporter of metal fasteners and is widely recognized as the “Screw Kingdom.” In recent years, however, the Taiwanese fastener industry has faced growing challenges from international markets, including price competition, dumping, and tariff barriers.

To support industry upgrading and strengthen global competitiveness, China Steel Corporation (CSC) and its subsidiary Zhongguan Information Technology partnered with National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and the Forging and Rolling Engineering Research Center to form a professional team at the 2025 Tainan International Fastener Industry Exhibition (TAINAN Fastener International Industry Show 2025), held from August 14 to 17 at the Greater Tainan Convention Center. The team provided technical consultation and showcased innovative solutions addressing the industry’s pain points.

Exhibits included Zhongguan Information’s remote crane control system, crane simulation trainer, intelligent logistics warehousing and unmanned crane system, as well as its RFID application system. NKUST and the Forging and Rolling Engineering Research Center presented diverse AI inspection technologies, gasket forging molds, fastener defect detection techniques, intelligent module development, and mold base displacement adjustment methods, offering practical tools for manufacturers.

In addition, CSC and NKUST jointly promoted the Taiwan Fastener Service Cloud (TFSC), developed under the government’s cloud service industry policy. Leveraging cloud technologies, TFSC connects domestic fastener manufacturers with innovative cloud-based services, helping Taiwanese companies expand internationally while attracting overseas buyers.

The TFSC also provides technical support and patent-related knowledge services, while optimizing supply chain management processes through cloud connectivity. This enhances industry efficiency, increases revenue, and establishes a benchmark model for Taiwan’s fastener industry in the era of Industry 4.0.
