MOEA’s A+ Program Passed Four R&D Projects, Spotlighting Techman Robot’s Wheeled Humanoid Robots
2026/01/23 | By Sherry ChenTaiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has approved four projects in the first review round of its A+ Enterprise Innovation R&D Program this year to strengthen smart manufacturing, semiconductors, advanced machine tools, and AI infrastructure. Among the recipients, Techman Robot plans to develop a wheeled humanoid robot to address chronic manufacturing labor shortages.
Led by the Department of Industrial Technology, the program endorsed projects from Techman Robot, Nanya Technology, Goodway Machine Corporation, and Vossic Technology following a final review meeting on the 15th. Collectively, the initiatives are designed to enhance Taiwan’s industrial technologies and global competitiveness.

The wheeled humanoid robot is equipped with dual seven-axis arms, a multi-degree-of-freedom torso, and a mobile base, integrating 3D vision and force sensing for high-precision, industrial-grade tasks. Targeted for factory floors and semiconductor production lines, the system emphasizes stability, safety, and energy efficiency, with additional AI agents to lower barriers to automation adoption. The project is expected to generate NT$1 billion in investment, file 15 patents, create 30 jobs, and deliver NT$27 billion cumulative output value within three years of completion.
Other approved projects include Nanya Technology’s next-generation 10-nanometer-class DRAM and AI memory R&D, Goodway Machine Corporation’s integrated five-axis machining solution for high-precision gear processing, and an edge-intelligence platform to improve thermal efficiency in AI data centers. MOEA said that the A+ program aims to accelerate innovation upgrades and secure Taiwan’s leadership in smart manufacturing, semiconductors, and AI.
